ScopeGuard is a pre-launch project change-control service for freelancers, agencies, studios, and consultants. This policy explains what information the service may collect, why it is used, and the choices available to users.

We may collect account details such as your name, email address, password hash, business profile information, project details, client request information, change orders, approval records, notes, and timestamps. Passwords are not stored in readable form.

2. How information is used

Information is used to provide and secure the service, keep each account's projects separate, generate project records and documents, process client approvals, maintain an evidence timeline, improve the product, and respond to support requests.

3. Client and project data

You are responsible for having an appropriate legal basis to enter client or project information into ScopeGuard. Do not upload sensitive personal data that is not necessary for project change control.

4. Sharing and sale of data

ScopeGuard does not sell personal information. Data may be shared only with service providers needed to operate the product, when required by law, to protect the service and its users, or when a user intentionally shares a public approval link with a client.

5. Security

Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used, including account authentication, password hashing, account-level data separation, secure deployment practices, and HTTPS when the hosted service launches. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

6. Data retention

Information is retained while an account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect legitimate business interests. A formal deletion process will be available before the public paid launch.

7. Your choices

Users may review and update their account and business profile information. Requests to access, correct, export, or delete data will be handled through the support contact published when the hosted service launches.

8. Cookies and sessions

ScopeGuard may use essential session cookies or similar technology to keep users signed in and protect account access. These are required for the service to function.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as ScopeGuard develops. The latest version and its effective date will be published on this page.
